Sometimes the best way to learn is by doing. And this month the Kona Daifukuji Orchid Club will get hands-on demonstrations on different ways to display all those orchids. After all, you’ve got to do something with them. Some of us have orchid collections rapidly expanding on your lanai and in your backyard (perhaps spreading more rapily than coquis).
Cheeta, Phoenicia, Jennifer and Carol will demonstrate different styles of floral arrangements at the this month’s KDOC meeting on September 10 in Honalo.
KDOC members will then make their own arrangements using orchids and tools at hand. Members are asked to bring a vase and clippers, as well as any flowers and greens that may be available.
In the business meeting, Carol will talk about the changing of the times, and what was involved in the original KDOC membership. The nominating committee will start taking names of those members interested in 2015 Club Officers positions.
Members are also asked to bring their copy of the KDOC handbook to this month’s meeting.
